FATHERS OF NATIONS SAMPLE ESSAY: EVILS ARE PUNISHED
The evil that people do often attracts punishment in one way or another. Using Fathers of Nations, write an essay to justify this.
Many people who do evil things hope that they escape unscathed by their deeds. They learn very late that retribution comes to all as they cannot escape the consequences of their actions.
Kimani engages in a physical altercation with Walomu, only to end up in prison. This happened after he learns that the MP has stolen his wife. He is very devastated and decides to pay the man a visit. His anger however overtakes his reasoning when the nonchalant MP taunts him. At first Kimani is composed and talks to the MP. However, he notices how careless and incorrigible he is. He cannot understand why the leader has chosen his old wife despite having three others. His anger is heightened by Walomu’s careless discourse about stealing of spouses. He loses his cool and attempts to strike the MP. He is arrested, charged and jailed because of his lack of self-control. When he takes the law into his own hands, he ceases to be innocent. His choice of action leads to repairable consequences when his career is shattered.
When Tahir vows to retaliate his unrequited love, he gets a horrible a horrible punishment for his misgiving. It all begins when he attempts to take Mw. Rahma on a date. As many ladies do to avoid being seen as easy going, she declines, hoping he would press on. Unfortunately Tahir misinterprets sweet no for a sour one and reacted violently. He had stormed back into his office enraged and his ego punctured. How could the girl, a person many times his junior turn down his advances? He slaps her the next morning, as she is removing her head veil. He did so with the pretext that he was administering discipline on a female subordinate for shedding her veil in public in violation of Libyan culture. He had done this in revenge against one who had rejected his advances. She does not take it lying down. She slit his eye with a sharp letter opener. He later takes her to court but vengeance does not bring Tahir peace. He becomes more restless. He is left with an emotional boil that festers inside him. He screams, shouts and sinks into gloom. Finally, he leaves Tripoli to live alone in Bengazi. He gets a heavy punishment because of his vengeful nature.
When Rahma hastily decides to pay evil with evil, she invites untold sufferings into her life. She slits Tahir’s eye with a letter opener. This happened after he slaps her for shedding her head veil in public. She never stops to consider the chain of events that actions would unlock. When Tahir leaves hospital a month later, he takes her to court, because of his bitter and vengeful nature. He explains that he had slapped her for imitating Americans. To him, she had grossly violated the Libyan culture. Even though she pleaded guilty – citing temporary insanity, the court turned a Hammurabic verdict. It was not moved by her tears. It was decided that she loses her eye by surgery the next morning. Her rash decision had caused her an eye as a permanent reminder.
In summary, feet that hurry on the path of evil and malice often meet overwhelming retribution that can engulf their lives like an imposing tide that causes loss and immense pain.
